I love you man
I like kissing men. I really do. Not the mouth-to-mouth kiss but the real macho kiss in the cheek you save for your best friend or men you have trust in. I learned this in Argentina. I was surprised to see that after mingling around the same group of guys for a while, many of them kissed me when I arrived. It felt weird in the beginning but really good after a while.
For Europeans (except Italians, but for different reasons) Male kisses are sick and gay. They react with haste and repulsiveness as if mentioning vomit during a meal. For European men, to feel another mans lips touching their cheek is insulting and invading at the same time. Little do they know how good it feels? And I think I know why.
Spanish men are tremendously reluctant to intimate friendship. They are so pseudo machos that in impels them to pronounce any kind word in aid of a good friend.
I doubt there is any Spanish man who has cried in front of his friend alone. Other than when drunk, Spanish men avoid being alone with another man. For them to talk for hours about personal and intimate things is completely out the question. They lack the communication privileges of opening up to your soul to your friend and thus ignores how good it feels to say goodbye to this friend with a kiss and hug. And when someone does, they act like monkeys in a motorcycle not knowing how to react or just wishing to get out of the subject as quick as possible. Leaving you with a deep deep scar in your soul and lonely as a bitch.
No Spanish men talk about work, money, women and football, drink a couple of beers and say goodbye with a pat on the back deeply knowing the have spent a couple of hours wasting time and decompressing their stressful meaningless lives with another human being that did not listen to one word they said and couldn’t care less about it anyway.
So in conclusion, it is not the kiss I miss, it’s the intimacy that comes with it. To kiss another men is saying, - hey I am here and we can talk about anything, I am with you brother. Spain is different indeed.

don't quite agree that italians are the euro exceptions. French guys (since i know them best) are not reluctant at all to kiss their close male friends. And some of them, especially as they grow older, do not hesitate to actually talk to each other. But i reckon it must be quite rare still. Don't you and/or men in general speak more easily to a female friend ?
