Once in a lifetime
Saw David Byrne at the Palau de la Musica Catalana last night. I am a little bit biased when to it comes to this mans´ talent. I have been a fan of his since back in the late seventies, the name of this band is talking heads, and have followed his work ever since. For many years I have missed his shows. Last night one of my fantasies came true.
I got VIP passes so far in front I interfered with his dancing. Him and the Band wore blinding white suits on a sober minimalist stage consisting merely of a few lighting towers. He didn’t need more than that. He could have easily made a whole show with his classic tunes and make everyone happy, however, the quality of his work during the years made it for a show with new stuff that felt like heaven, a night to discover that Mr. Byrne is in no lack of good ideas and important messages. Sophisticated and polite to the extreme, Mr. Byrne delighted us all with his intelligent pop music filled with profound and eye opening lyrics. A night to remember.
P.S. Picture courtesy of Gaby Weisheit (copyright), cheers gaby, I also enjoyed the show.
